When IGEM gives birth to Gemwheel
Gemwheel is rooted in the heart of the Gemmological Institute of Montreal (IGEM), an independent institution recognized for its scientific and educational approach.
For over 30 years, IGEM has trained future professionals in gemology, analyzed precious stones, and supported individuals as well as businesses through its expertise laboratory.
In light of the observation that many individuals were receiving poor advice or misvaluing their jewelry, a conviction emerged: to offer a space where everyone can buy or sell transparently, with a fair price guaranteed by prior expertise.
This is how Gemwheel was born: a platform where gemological rigor protects sellers, reassures buyers, and restores the true value of each piece of jewelry.

Marie-Hélène Corbin
Former professional in the field of real estate assets and after assisting collectors and individuals in jewelry and gemstone auctions, she founded the first independent gemology laboratory in Quebec, before consolidating her analysis, expertise, and training activities under a single entity: the Montreal Gemological Institute (IGEM).
Marie-Hélène wanted to offer an optimal solution for clients of the iGEM Evaluation Center or the iGEM Gemology Laboratory wishing to sell their jewelry.
